do you run on windows media player on the tp2 then I would suggest converting to wmv files
if possible get a license for core player...
might be better players out there but thats the one I´m using myself and I think its great.

I would convert them to mp4 format, but you could always get Coreplayer like J!nxed said.  Coreplayer is very good.

If you do it right, much smaller
Here is my explanation:

I prefer using mp4 codec and setting an optimized resolution and bit rate.  What I recommend is to get a video converter, many are free, but I prefer Xilisoft's http://www.xilisoft.com/video-converter.html, and convert your videos.  My settings are:
Mp4 Codec, 720 x 480 resolution, and 1200 bit rate.
I find these resolution and bit rate to give the smoothest playback while retaining quality.  I prefer the mp4 codec since it is natively supported by Windows media player and has an excellent compression method (which leads to a smaller video size).  Also, your vids are formated for PC so lowering the resolution and bit rate will also save some more space.

First select an ipod profile, and then on the right, there is a drop down that says "Video Size".  Then you want to press the '>>' next to "Profile Settings" on the top right.  You can edit the video and bitrate there.

u can use a mp4 converter to get the avis to be mp4, then I think the machine will play them.

u can choose the output settings in the porfile or set by yourself.
