Hi dudes. The TP2 isn't released here as yet, but I got mine from a guy that imports them from Hong Kong. Unlocked of course.

I got my TP2 on June 8,  2009 and I must say it has been an on-off-on-off kinda relationship so far. I am moving from a Palm Treo 650, and have been a Palm OS user for over 10 years, which meant that I had a number of paid programs that I used daily, to move from. The initial purchase was actually triggered by something trivial - after updating the s/w in my TomTom GO930 car GPS, it would no longer maintain Bluetooth link with my Treo. That was the last straw and I embarked on a long internet research to find a new phone.

My background is IT and I love to make use of leading edge toys as long as they work. I favoured a keyboard and wanted good connectivity. In the end the choice was down to a Dream or the TP2. I chose the latter, because I hoped that there would be better integration with MS Office, and a more mature OS, plus the keyboard and higher res screen. I do think that Android is going to be a real contender for WinMo, but for now I think I had made the right choice.

My initial 12 hrs with the TP2, however was very mixed. I loved the h/w but quickly got frustrated with the interface. Somethings were there, but difficult to find, like deleting a contact, others missing altogether, like adding a linked appointment for a contact from the Contact's screen. The fact that my TP2 CD had empty folders like for the manual, didn't help.

Anyway this forum was the most useful resource for me and I started adding apps, which have now transformed my TP2 to be a useful tool.

Like you I'm a long time Palm person ... since the mid 90s w/Handspring through Treo 650 and now a 750p ... and like you I'm headed to the TP2 (as soon as Verizon gets them and WinMo 7.0 comes out - or I get a written guarantee that Verizon will upgrade the OS).  My OS change comes in order to integrate better with the Windows.live environment.

I'm already 'bracing' myself for the culture change in OS.  I feel your pain with the transition from a system you're really familiar with to one you have to 'learn' before you can benefit from the device itself.

I'm interested to hear how your feelings change as you move from novice to power user - especially how well it's meeting your desire to integrate better with Office.

Hi Hoffnet,

Biggest change is that I need to close a program in WM. In Palm you just switched and that was that.

I purchased Agendus and MyBible, which I had on the Palm and will probably buy HandBase. This way I am getting similar functions. The larger screen is a real beauty!
