Hey guys.  I am waiting for a carrier to release the TP2 in the US and am probably gonna switch to whoever gets it first.  I was wondering what carrier you guys are thinking about using the TP2 on?

I'll stick with Sprint. Used them for close to ten years and have been very happy with the service.

The rumors are running rampant! It's been seen with several carrier logos on it. Yeah, my bet is on Sprint as well, but that might just be a bit of wishful / hopeful thinking in there, LOL.

Guyz in US( and generally other countries) there is not the possibily to have a phone(unlocked) which means you don't have contract you ain't have anything of these just the phone and a sim that you put money in it whenever you want by buying a kind of a card with a number on it?

Not entirely sure what you're saying.  You can most definitely unlock the TP1 so most likely the TP2.  So are you asking if it's possible to NOT have a carrier?  Is that what you're getting at?

yeah, we have a big frequency divide here in the US: gsm & cdma.

As far as gsm goes, they can buy the European unlocked phones and use it - for the most part. They won't be able to get the really fast internet speeds with them.

As far as SIM cards go, not every carrier over here has phones equipped with them or allows them.

European phones won't work on CDMA carriers. And except for a few exceptions (world phones), their phones don't have SIM cards. The ones that do, have them so they can be used on travels overseas.

I see i understand now thank you both its just here in Greece the phones with no Sim card at all are like 10% the most  while some do not use the way i said the thing to charge your phone but pay a contract but still have inside a sim  thats what i emant and they get a bill like every month i think( f.e. Vodafone is like this has the sims that come with no contract you go to a (small shop that has some different thingies kind of small stuffs not electrical it has food it has sodas and it has sim cards:) and the cards to charge also)and buy one and whenever you want go buy a charge card and you put money even up to 50 euro or more:)you have free sms packages and so on f.e. in my carrier i pay 5 euro for 600 sms that i must use during the month or they get erased and so on it goes... On the other hand there is the sim that you go buy from exclusive shop if its carrier and you get a contract you like:)

I was hoping Sprint would get it first so I could go to them instead of T-mobile.  What type of plan do you have with Sprint?  I might get the Everything Data Family plan with 3000 minutes.

I've been with Verizon for well over ten years ... never a problem with them, and I don't know of anyone else who could beat their coverage here in the U.S.  I really would prefer to have a GSM phone because of the wider acceptance of the standard (very few places that I've travel to are CDMA only, but I have been to many GSM only places).

We have the family plan with data and 1500 minutes. Since I mostly use the phone at night, that is plenty of minutes. The data is good, too. I'm currently using a Samsung Instinct, but will make the switch as soon as the phone is released.

The only reason we need that many minutes is because my dad runs his 24/7 answering service through his cell phone.  Are incoming calls free on Sprint?  That would be great since his are mostly incoming.

That is actually a great plan but it is too expensive for 4 people.
