Can anyone recommend a simple media player that will play the regular formats (mpg, wmv, 3gp, m4p)? I don't like Windows Media Player and the other recommended programme, CorePlayer, is also major - too many bells and whistles. I'm not interested in libraries and catalogues and clever playlist features, I just want a simple player; open/choose one file/play!
Anyone any ideas?

Kinoma player?
Haven't tried it, but see people using it.

Thanks, I've lookled at the Kinoma site, and I'm concerned that it bills itself as "More than just a player, Kinoma Play is all you need to enjoy video, audio and pictures — on your phone, on the web, and from your home PC". It rather sounds like even more bells and whistles than WMP and Core, but I'll check it out further.

How about TCMPT?

Or that might go under the same catagory as Core.

Check these sites out!
If you don't find anything here, I'd you're to picky! Tongue hehe

Core player is great.  Don't know if it works on the TP2 as I don't have one yet but I don't see why it wouldn't.  This one does cost money though just so you know.

A CorePlayer question, if i may, as it has no trial version:
Can I open a file from a folder of my choice, rather than the software scanning all my files and creating a Library? That's the feature that all players seem to have now, but which I totally dislike; scanning all the files on the device and bunging them all into a Library, automatically sorting video from audio. I don't want playlists or libraries, I know where I store my files and I want to access them myself from those locations, and then to open files in the good old-fashioned way, "File/select/open"!
Is CorePlayer for me? Or indeed is there any player left any more that does that?

That's exactly the way files are opened! And I like it to! One of the things that I like with Coreplayer.

You press on a little arrow pointing down. Then it shows File etc.... Press file and go to the location of your choise, then check the files you want.

Yes, I especially like the way you choose your file separately rather than it grouping all of your media into a library.

I prefer the choosing method for videos, but the library method for music.

Sounds perfect, thanks guys.
But one more thing, though; all the scren shots I can find are portrait mode. It does also work in landscape, I'm guessing?
